Botis sits in the Flesh quadrant of the Ars Goetia. The binding is fixed by the digit-sum of each card's mana cost.

Botis is one of the 72 spirits catalogued in the Ars Goetia, the first book of the Lesser Key of Solomon. Eigendark reinterprets that historical register as its fictional operational layer. When a Flesh card with cost digit-sum 3 resolves, Botis is the Goetia the game associates with that binding.

Office

Botis: Reconciliation and knowledge of past/future

In the Solomonic grimoire tradition, each spirit is assigned an office — a domain of attributed knowledge or power. Eigendark uses those offices as design prompts for card effects. The exact faction, digit-sum and mechanical mapping on this page are Eigendark canon rather than historical occult doctrine.

Faction: Flesh

"Life finds a way. Evolve or die. Feed and breed. Consume to grow."

Survival of the fittest. Flesh hackers manipulate evolution, reshape living systems and blur the line between living and dead.

The science of life as process. Genetics, evolution, disease, fertility, hunger, somatic experience. Shub-Niggurath's domain. Jungle neurology, Lemurian mutation, somatic evolution sorcery. Life differentiates into distinct forms; it is the counter-force to entropy.

The Goetic Register

Within Eigendark, the 72 Goetia are divided evenly across 8 factions — 9 spirits per faction, assigned by the digit-sum of a card's mana cost. The game fiction places the binding in its 1577 receiver chronology. Each spirit represents a specific instrumental goal of its eschaton, The Red Communion. The older handle Shub-Niggurath is a receiver alias.

The Pandemonium Matrix represents the older, pre-Solomonic, Lemurian-Continuum-aligned demonology. It is the grimoire of the wet, polydirectional time the Atlantean Order sank. When the Lemurian Continuum breaches (Broken Transmissions, certain Black Moons, Xenodemon intrusions), Pandemonium entities leak through and briefly operate outside the Goetic table. Cards generated during such events carry Lemurian names and mechanics and are flagged "ontologically unstable" in the Grimoire.

The Rival Register

Beneath the Goetic layer, a rival system persists: the Pandemonium Matrix — 45 Lemurian Amphidemons that predate the Solomonic hierarchy. During Broken Transmissions, the Lemurian register briefly overrides the Goetic one, producing cards flagged as "ontologically unstable."

All Flesh Goetia

The Aesthetic

The horror is not dark. The horror is procedural. A Goetic demon assigned by a Python function that computes the digit-sum of the mana cost.
